When tension has become
your constant state
Your body no longer settles, your thoughts keep circling, your energy covers the essentials and nothing more. That is not a question of discipline. It is a stress system stuck in overdrive, with cortisol, pulse and brain networks permanently on. We measure where it is stuck, and we train the brake.

“Take better care of yourself” you have heard often, and that is exactly what no longer works: the evening brings no calm, sleep stays shallow, the heart races even while doing nothing, and under the restlessness is an emptiness nobody sees. Two years like this, and the question when exhaustion turns into something bigger. There is a point where advice stops being enough and measurement begins.
Persistent stress is among the most frequently cited reasons for work-related health complaints across Europe.
Symptoms have a map
In chronic stress the salience network stays on alert and no longer switches cleanly between inner and outer focus; hence the sensory overload and the inability to switch off. The limbic network reacts faster and harder. Two systems keep this going. Hormones: cortisol that stays elevated for months turns up the baseline tension of the whole nervous system and at some point flattens, which feels like emptiness and loss of drive; a thyroid problem running alongside looks identical from the outside. The autonomic nervous system: the sympathetic branch dominates, heart-rate variability drops, and without a vagal brake the body cannot find recovery even at the weekend. qEEG and heart-rate variability show two sides of the same state, and the lab shows whether a hormone axis has to be treated first. An internal-medicine examination rules out structural causes.
For an overview of the six brain networks and a first orientation, see the Brain Network Analysis.
The assessment first, then your program.
Every patient starts with a structured assessment: your history, existing findings, questionnaires on exhaustion, sleep and mood, a clinical examination, lab work with a cortisol day profile, thyroid and micronutrients, and a heart-rate variability measurement. qEEG brain mapping is added when we want to know how strongly your brain is still on alert at rest. In our program neuromodulation is one building block beside sleep, load management and correcting whatever the lab shows: neurofeedback and HRV biofeedback so you learn to operate the brake yourself, taVNS for the vagus and, where it fits the profile, tDCS for prefrontal control. If you take medication, it stays as it is unless your treating physician decides otherwise. The first consultation takes 15 to 20 minutes; after it you will know whether a measurement makes sense.
Our aim stays the same: to restore functional balance, with as little medication as possible and a life with high quality of life as the measure.
You don’t have to decide anything today. A 15 to 20 minute conversation is enough to know whether an assessment is worth it for you.

- Medication or therapy has not been enough so far
- You are looking for a measurement-based, non-invasive path
- You are open to outpatient treatment in Bad Aibling
Less suitable if …
- You expect a purely remote or online treatment without on-site diagnostics
- You expect a guarantee — serious medicine cannot give one
In an acute crisis or having suicidal thoughts? Please seek immediate medical or emergency help — in Germany call 112, or the free 24/7 helpline Telefonseelsorge 0800 111 0 111.
The first consultation is free. We discuss the scope, duration and cost of any program openly afterwards, outpatient, here in Bad Aibling.
What the research shows
Peer-reviewed work on Stress & Exhaustion and the relevant procedures, graded by evidence level. No study proves an individual outcome.
In short: for some procedures the evidence is solid, for others still early. Where your case stands is settled in the assessment, and the program follows from it.
HRV biofeedback for stress and anxiety: meta-analysis
Remote HRV biofeedback for mental health: systematic review & meta-analysis
taVNS for stress regulation: EEG and questionnaire study
Prefrontal tDCS and autonomic/neuroendocrine response to psychosocial stress
Neurofeedback-assisted mindfulness training for stress reduction in employees: RCT
Neurofeedback-assisted meditation via wearable for stress reduction: RCT
More studies across all conditions: Science & Studies.
HRV biofeedback for stress regulation is supported by meta-analyses; for taVNS and tDCS in chronic stress there are single controlled trials so far. Where your system gets stuck decides which building block comes first, and the second measurement decides whether it stays.
