Adult ADHD:
focus can be trained
Many adults with ADHD have spent years negotiating only the dose. Sleep, iron, thyroid and the attention network itself rarely came up. That is where we start.

Perhaps the diagnosis came late, after years of believing you were chaotic or undisciplined. Perhaps the tablets carry you through the morning and drop you in the afternoon. ADHD is not a question of willpower. It is the way certain networks in your brain weigh stimuli, and that way can be measured and trained.
Around 2.5–3% of adults are affected by ADHD; in many it is only recognised in adulthood.
Symptoms have a map
In ADHD the interplay between the attention network and the central executive network (dorsolateral prefrontal cortex) is altered: holding focus and loading working memory cost more energy than they do for others. Often the default mode network pushes into moments when you want to stay concentrated. Two things amplify this pattern from outside. Chronically short sleep produces the same symptoms as ADHD and weakens every treatment; so sleep comes before any stimulation in the plan. And iron deficiency, a thyroid disorder or a low omega-3 status alter the dopamine signalling that attention depends on; so lab work belongs in the picture. A physician interprets this and rules out other causes.
For an overview of the six brain networks and a first orientation, see the Brain Network Analysis.
The assessment first, then your program.
In our program everything begins with a structured assessment: history, existing findings, questionnaires, clinical examination, a sleep history and lab work. A qEEG brain mapping is added when we want to see how your attention network works at rest and under demand, and it is the basis once neurofeedback becomes part of the plan. Neuromodulation is one building block: neurofeedback for self-regulation of attention, and where the profile suggests it tDCS, rTMS or taVNS. Beside it stand sleep, nutrition and micronutrients, and psychological support for what years of self-blame have left behind. We change your existing medication only together with the physician who prescribed it.
Our aim stays the same: to restore functional balance, with as little medication as possible and a life with high quality of life as the measure.
You don’t have to decide anything today. A 15 to 20 minute conversation is enough to know whether an assessment is worth it for you.

What the research shows
Peer-reviewed work on Adult ADHD and the relevant procedures, graded by evidence level. No study proves an individual outcome.
In short: for some procedures the evidence is solid, for others still early. Where your case stands is settled in the assessment, and the program follows from it.
Pharmacological, psychological and neurostimulatory interventions for adult ADHD – network meta-analysis
tDCS in adults with ADHD – systematic review and meta-analysis of RCTs
tDCS for adults with ADHD – a systematic review
Efficacy and safety of tDCS in ADHD – systematic review and meta-analysis
Portable EEG-based neurofeedback for ADHD – meta-analysis of RCTs
Neurofeedback in ADHD – meta-analysis (Collaborative Neurofeedback Group)
Microstate-based neurofeedback in ADHD – randomised crossover trial
More studies across all conditions: Science & Studies.
Controlled trials and meta-analyses exist for neurofeedback and tDCS in adult ADHD; effects are moderate and differ from person to person. Where your attention network gives way is what the assessment shows, and the training is set to that.
